This program helps in the process of converting a standard MIDIfile from an IBM computer (or other hardware platform) to Performer (or other MIDI software) on the Macintosh.
Once you have copied the MIDIfile onto your Macintosh disk (via a modem, Apple File Exchange , or similar utility), use the MIDIfile Converter 1.01 on the file. Doing so changes the file’s TYPE and CREATOR so that Performer (or any Mac software that reads MIDI files) will recognize it as a standard MIDIfile.
To use MIDIfile converter:
1. Double-click the MIDIfile converter icon.
A standard Macintosh Open dialog box appears.
2. Locate the MIDIfile using the directory pop-up menu and the Drive button.
3. Click the MIDIfile to select it and click Open.
A warning box asks you if you are sure you want to convert the file. This warning is simply a way for you to cancel if you accidentally select the wrong file.
4. Click OK.
The file’s TYPE and CREATOR is set and the application quits. You are done!
